Website terms.
Terms for the free public website and weather API operated by Benjamin Raisanen in the United Kingdom.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
Weather information and safety
IMBER is an independent open source weather project. Forecasts and radar are informational, have uncertainty and may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable or inaccurate for a particular place. Check source and update times. IMBER is not an official warning service and should not be your sole source for decisions involving safety, health, travel or property.
For severe weather, use official Met Office warnings ↗ and local emergency advice. Do not rely on IMBER for emergency alerts or safety-critical operations.
Fair use and availability
You may use the public weather tools and documented read-only API for lawful purposes. Do not interfere with security, attempt unauthorised access or make requests that disrupt the service. We may rate-limit abusive traffic, maintain or change features, and suspend a service where reasonably necessary. We do not promise continuous availability or a service-level agreement for the free website.
Open source and data licences
Published source code is available under the licence accompanying the relevant repository. Third-party datasets, maps, images and libraries retain their own licence terms. Credit sources and follow applicable attribution and ShareAlike requirements when reusing material. Public access to an API does not remove those obligations. See the API and source documentation.
Voluntary support and external services
The support page offers voluntary contributions through Buy Me a Coffee. A contribution does not buy a forecast guarantee, subscription, priority service or ownership in IMBER. Any recurring support must be selected knowingly through the payment provider. Buy Me a Coffee and its payment partners handle checkout under their own terms. Contact us about a contribution problem, and use the provider’s payment-support process where relevant.
External websites and services have their own terms and privacy policies.
Responsibility and your legal rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not guarantee that the free service will meet every purpose or be free of errors. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction that apply to you.
